Ecovolunteer nature travel: help in large carnivore research in Romania. More than one third of all European large carnivores, wolves, bears and lynx live in Romania. The Carpathians of Transylvania are their most important stronghold west of Russia and much of the future of large carnivores in Europe depends on the well-doing of these populations. The Carpathian Large Carnivore Project is an international initiative to face this challenge and ecovolunteers are needed in lending a helping hand in this exciting field research and conservation project. At the start of 2001 we have 2 lynx, 4 wolves and 4 bears collared. We hope that we get more collared bears, lynx and wolves soon. large carnivore project, predator prey interactions, livestock wolf human conflict, large carnivores, canidae, canids, canis lupus, wolves, carpathian wolf, ursidae, ursus arctos, bears, brown bear, carpathian bear, felidae, felids, lynx lynx, lynxes, carpathian lynx, romania, carpathians, bucegi-piatra craiului biosphere reserve, carpathian large carnivore project, munich wildlife society, wildbiologische gesellschaft munchen, institutul de cercetari di amenajari silvice, wildlife research department, christoph promberger, ovidiu ionescu, radio telemetry, nature travel, ecotourism
