Iberian wolves in Portugal, Canis lupus signatus
Please join us for hands-on participation in the daily activities in our Iberian wolf recovery center. The rare Iberian wolf of Portugal sadly is in danger of extinction. Therefore we provide care and a naturalistic environment in captivity for wolves that can no longer live in the wild. Currently we care for over twenty wolves. Intake of new wolves concerns for instance injured wolves or wolves rescued from poor captive conditions, which could not be released into the wild. At the same time through various activities we address the public for better understanding of this endangered species by informing visitors on wolf-biology and wolf-conservation problems. Your participation provides a unique opportunity to you to experience various facets of wolf conservation work.
